Question 1

What is news trading?

Accepted Answer

News trading means positioning around scheduled economic releases such as non-farm payrolls, CPI or central-bank decisions, when new information reaches the market at a known time and prices can jump with widened spreads.

Question 2

Where do the market reactions come from?

Accepted Answer

From observed Bid/Ask tick data around each release: the move in basis points at +1, +5, +15 and +60 minutes, aggregated per release family and instrument. Nothing is interpolated or simulated.

Question 3

Is the economic calendar free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The calendar with actual figures and surprises is free; tick-derived analytics and backtesting are available to members.
